Well I'm going to just jump right on into this whole blog thing. As most of you know we went to Michigan to celebrate Jack's first birthday. Me and the kids went two weeks before because I needed what I call a "Roseau Break" and that means a break from the small town hell that we currently call home. That's a whole other story.
Jacks party was on Saturday, March 22nd in Ishpeming and we had a perfect turn out. About 30 guests were there and we all had a great time. Jack took a nap before so he was in a great mood for the party and charmed everyone. The food was great, the family and friends were great and the cake was great.
Jackson especially thought so. I have been waiting for years to see one of my children "Smash" into their birthday cake. But, Olivia being the girly girl she is - she refused to smash into it and that's ok, that makes her, her. Jackson however dived right in and got messy. It helped that the bakery made a mistake and gave him a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting!! I stripped his clothes off and put him in the high chair in his diaper and let him go to town.
I definately don't have a hard time getting this child to eat - he loves his food and that's no joke. He smashed the cake all over his diaper and in his hair and had it everywhere. Afterwards, we hosed him down in the kitchen sink where he cried because he wasn't done with the cake!!
Jackson received many wonderful and BIG presents. Most of which we were not able to bring home yet because we had our little car. Hopefully grandma and grandpa plan on a trip to Minnesota so they can deliver his presents soon.
